My Weekend

Ryan came to visit this weekend. It was soooo good to have him here. We ordered pizza Friday night and stayed up late watching tv. Saturday was a beautiful day so we packed a picnic basket and went to the lake. We ate our lunch, walked some of the trails, and then Ryan taught me how to skip rocks on the lake. Saturday night we went to the coffee house in Indianola and talked and drank mochas for two hours. Then we went back to my house and watched movies. Sunday afternoon we made lunch (lasagna, french bread, and salad) and watched Myth Busters before he had to leave. Now he is gone and I'm sitting here insanely bored and grumpy. I love that he can come and visit, but it is always so hard to say goodbye.
On another happy note, one of my good friends had a baby! Justin and Cassie Devries have a new baby boy! Congrats guys! I'm happy for you! I can't wait to see him!

Attacked by the Cooties

So much has happened since the last time I wrote that I don't even know where to begin......so, I guess I'll start with the most current. Ryan came to visit this weekend. :) It was soooo good to see him again. However, I was rather bummed when I came down with flu. It wasn't the stomache flu, but rather the real influenza virus that reaks havoc on your respiratory system. I spent Friday and Saturday fighting through horrible fits of coughing, but managed to ignore it as much as possible so that I could hang out with Ryan. However, Sunday morning came and the virus hit me like a truck (actually it didn't just hit me.....it ran over me and the put it in reverse and backed over me too). Not fun. My lungs hurt, my body ached, I couldn't stop coughing and shivering, and then in a matter of minutes I went from being insanely cold to being insanely hot. By the end of the day I had a fever of 102. I felt horrible that Ryan had driven four hours to come and see me and then I was too weak to even get off the couch. He was really sweet about it though. He pulled a chair up next to the couch and spent the day taking care of me. He definitely deserves a boyfriend of the year award. ;)
Also, for those of you who do not know, I turned in my resignation to DesMoines Christian Early Edudation and will begin a new job with Mercy Hospital on March 13th. I will be working as a Medical Records Clerk. I'm really excited about it. I will miss my job at DesMoines Christian and all the wonderful friends I have made there, but I was feeling burned out and wanted to pursue other job opportunities. I am thankful to God for opening doors and providing me with new experiences. Sometimes I struggle to see it, but I know how very much God is working in my life. I am truly blessed. :)

One of those days.....

Have you ever had one of those days where you wished that you would get eaten by a giant hole in the ground? Yeah....I'm having one of those days. I just don't know what to do about anything anymore. Life=frustration. I feel like a great big whiner because I know that God has blessed my life in so many ways, but right now all I can see is the struggle and frustration of it all. I wish God would send me an e-mail with explicit directions for my life. That would take the guessing out of trying to get it right. Anyhow, so sorry that my first post in next to forever is such a depressing one. I need to write more when I'm in a fantabulous mood!! That would make for better reading. :) I will have to do that again soon!

Unless you enjoy feeling nauseous and sick to your stomach, I suggest that you do not try the new Mixed Berry 7 up Plus. My dad just bought a whole case of it at Hy-Vee for 99 cents and it is so gross!! Ya think maybe that's why it was on sale for 99 cents? Hmmmm.........

My Super Fun Weekend

I got an early start to my weekend last Thursday with two days off from work. Yea for vacation days!! I drove to Quincy on Thurday to spend the weekend with Ryan and had a great time. We drove over to Moberly on Friday for Central's graduation and had fun seeing lots of old friends. Then we returned to MO on Saturday to spend a little more time visiting with people and catching up on all the current info. It's so crazy to see how everyone's life is changing and to see how God is directing everyone's lives. It was also fun to meet all the new "additions." You all have cute kids by the way. ;) After that, it was back to Quincy where Ryan and I stayed up late eating ice cream and watching Elf. Good movie and two thumbs up for strawberry milkshakes from Steak and Shake. Yum! Then Sunday morning Ryan got up super early and headed back to Springfield for church and I got up and headed back to MO to have lunch with Trisha and Tessy. It was kinda sad not getting to spend Sunday with Ryan like we had planned, I don't get to see him enough as it is, but I did have a great time eating lunch with my friends. I don't get to see them enough either! Anyhow, Tessy, Trisha, and I went out for chinese and then I got to see both of their new houses. They are both really nice and I'm a little jealous, but as long as there is a bedroom for me at both houses all will be forgiven. I plan to come and visit lots! ;) I also got to see the very cute pregnant Trisha and see the ultra sound pictures of the baby. How exciting! After that I started the long drive home and am now trying to recover from the very busy weekend.

My first post!!!

Due to the overwhelming response and millions of comments received since starting this blog I have decided that I should actually use it and post stuff. Ok, I lied. NO ONE commented on my blog page (except Ryan), but that's ok because I hadn't actually written anything yet, but now that I have I expect EVERYONE to visit and leave lots of comments. ;) It shall be fun!!!!! :)
